About Our Area

The Office of Student Loans and Scholarships is responsible for the disbursement, maintenance, and collection duties for Federal Perkins Loans and University Loans. We provide the promissory notes for these loans, provide the Exit Interviews, process payments, deferments and cancellations, and handle all billing and collection procedures for repayment.

Our office is also responsible for student aid disbursements which include Stafford Loans, Plus Loans, Pell grants, State grants (ex: PHEAA grants), Alternative Loans, TAP (Pennsylvania Tuition Assistance Program)/ 529 Plans, University Scholarships, and Outside Scholarships. Unlike the Federal Perkins Loans and University Loans, the Office of Student Loans and Scholarships does not handle repayment processes for Stafford and Alternative Loans. For these types of loans you would need to contact your lender(s).

The Office of Student Loans and Scholarships does not award loans, scholarships, or any other form of student aid. Information on applying for student aid can be found on the Office of Student Aid web site.

International students that receive U.S. based assistance in excess of total tuition may be subject to federal income tax. The Office of Student Loans and Scholarships assesses, collects, and reports to the IRS necessary information for this group of students.
